Bhubaneswar: On the lines of Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik’s mission for transformational changes in universal health care, the State Government will be developing composite facility centres at Medical College and Hospitals. To chalk the modalities for this, Chief Secretary Suresh Chandra Mahapatra reviewed availability of basic allied facilities in these campuses at a meeting held here on Thursday.

The Health and Family Welfare department has been asked to prepare a layout plan for facilities like permanent AAHAR centre, attendant rest shed, ATM, OMFED stall and cafeteria for attendants/day care patients/ staff and doctors. “The rest shed needs to be appropriate so that attendants could stay there when the patient is in hospital. The rest shed should have proper toilet and bath room facilities,” Mahapatra said.

Additional Chief Secretary (ACS) Health and Family Welfare RK Sharma outlined the issues for discussion at the meeting. The department was directed to prepare the layout plan in 15 days for consideration of the Government. Odisha has three old medical college and hospitals at Cuttack, Berhampur and Burla.
